This peach and melon white sangria is easy to whip up for a crowd, sparkles and glows in the summer light, and is inexpensive to boot
Makes 1 pitcher (slightly above 25 oz, or 4-5 drinks)
- 1 milliliter bottle (750 ml) dry white wine, well chilled
- 1/4 cup brandy (inexpensive is fine)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 ripe peach
- 1/2 ripe cantaloupe
- 2 cups ice
-
Combine brandy and sugar in the pitcher. Stir well and let sit together while you prepare the fruit.
-
Thinly slice the peach. Peel and thinly slice the 1/2 cantaloupe. You may not need to use the whole thing if you've got a large melon.
-
Put the sliced fruit in with the brandy and sugar, and stir them all around to soak the fruit with the brandy mixture.
-
Pour the chilled white wine over everything.
-
Store in the refrigerator to keep everything as cool as possible, then add the ice just before serving.
